Let’s compare the actual single family sales activity for the year 2006 versus 2005 in Malibu. Based on statistics provided by the Combined L.A./Westside MLS, Inc. – there were $255,534,999 sales volume in 2006, almost equivalent to 52% of the sales volume in 2005. The sold homes averaged about 96.9% sold price to last listed price and about 93.43% sold price to the original listed price.
Likewise the activity along the Malibu land area shows that there were $466,616,114 sales volume in 2006, actually over 106% more sales volume than in 2005. The sold homes averaged about 95.64% sold price to last listed price and about 82.51% sold price to the original listed price.
Additional interesting tidbits for the Malibu beach single family homes: there were 39 homes sold for all 2006 – average days on market was 104 days on the sold homes. At the end of 2006, there were 47 active listings – there were 107 new listing during 2006.
The additional interesting tidbit for single family homes on the Malibu land area: there were 188 homes sold for all 2006 – average days on market was 216 days on the sold homes. At the end of 2006, there were 201 active listings – there were 460 new listings during 2006.
