Rambla Pacifico Area Residents are in desperate need for a public/private road, their initial plans looked as if they were put on hold when the estimates came in at roughly double the planned budget.
However the Lower Rambla Pacifico Road Owners Association has only seen this as a minor set back and is still pushing ahead for the road at a faster pace due to the current fire threats at this time of year – as it would aid emergency services access – especially at times of disaster.
The planned road would connect the lower Rambla Pacifico to the upper part of the road and would save drivers a seven mile trek for a distance of only two miles.
The plans of course require permission and permits from the city, however homeowners hope that officials will help with contributing funds to the cost of construction. To the delight of the homeowners Municipal Officials last week renewed their promise of a contribution of $200,000 for the road.
The roads course has been altered from existing plans agreed by the city. The private portion of the road will be gated at each end, this was all agreed by city officials last December and heavy equipment has began to clear the land ready for the roads construction.
The construction of the road is heralded as a great truimph for residents. All eyes will be on the contruction to see how it progresses.
