Malibu’s “Farpoint” archeological site to go on State Registry of Historic Places

The California State Historical Resources Commission recommended the listing

A reported by Malibu Times, the "Farpoint" archeological site in Malibu Point Dume is to go on the State Registry of Historic places after the discovery of an 8 inch spear head by Gary Sikel an archeologist.

The discovery is more important than many realize as it could change the entire way that history portrays human settlement in North America. With evidence now showing that people may have settled in the region earlier than the Ice Age 14,000 years ago - where it is believed that humans arrived by crossing the land bridge between Siberia and North America.

This fascinating find caused the California State Historical Resources Commission to recommend the site be listed by the Registry of Historic Places, however this has been blocked by the land owner. However the site will still be, according to the Malibu Times, mentioned on the registry.

This find and out cry for preservation show the great history and community that Malibu and the surrounding area benefits from. The coastline is one of the most magnificent in the world and makes an ideal relocation destination.

If you are considering relocating to the area please call Judy Kunisaki on 310-317-8396 today.
