Labor Day Weekend sees bumper numbers of Visitors to Malibu
High temperatures inland drives visitors to the Malibu Coastline
With the heat index in LA at threee figures in places it is no wonder that people wanted to escape the heat for the cooler air at the coast. Where better to take a trip to the coast than Malibu.
Malibu Surfside News reported that there were bumper numbers of visitors this Labor Day weekend as beachgoers swelled the Malibu population by 215,000 just on Labor Day itself. - However, combining those numbers with the annual Chilli Cook off and the usual weekenders it is reported that Malibu could have seen 900,000 people this weekend.
However the Los Angeles Coastguard said that this was not the only issue, it was the reluctance for the crowds to leave at the end of the day - as high temperatures were still showing in inland areas. They were performing coastal rescues way into the night, however no one was injured seriously.
With a great coastline and world renouned beaches, why just enjoy Malibu at the weekend?
