The Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors helps answer those questions for the area beaches with its fantastic website.
If you are a beachgoer who would like to see what the beach conditions in the beach closest to Topanga for instance would be then this website is for you! You can see what local facilities are nearby, How much parking is available, Whether there is disabled access, What times the beach has a life-guard and information on how to obtain a surf report!
Also in this example used it tells you that there are no dogs allowed and that alcohol is not permitted on the beach. A useful page that answers those questions that you are often uncertain of.
In addition to this text information there is also pictures as well as links to live weather and webcams – so you can help plan a day at the beach much more easily.
