How about the chance for a peaceful, educational & historical day out without having to travel far and have massive entrance fees to pay?
Well, the Getty Center’s location in Malibu is perfect. The Getty Villa Malibu is right off the Pacific Coast Highway and guess what? Admission is free! Parking however is a very reasonable $8 and tickets have to be ordered in advanced. (See website link below) or by calling the villa on 310-440-7300.
The great think about the center is that it houses great artifacts from Greek, Roman and Etruscan era’s. The center itself is a Roman Villa recreated in Malibu which combines imperial extravagance with everyday functionality.
The Villa benefits from wide open spaces inside which house permanent and temporary exhibitions as well as luscious, peaceful gardens on the outside.
The center is open 10am-5pm Thursday to Mondays.
