Here in Malibu Summer is finally hear! Memorial day marks the beginning of the summer travel season, schools begin to wind down and tie up loose ends and parents prepare for their summer vacations! Time to dig out those surf boards and hit the beach! In 2007 there were over 190,000 people visit Malibu’s beaches to soak up the sunshine and catch some killer waves!
However, there is a more serious side to Memorial day, it is a time for reflection, for standing up and proudly supporting your country and its fallen hero’s who lost their lives fighting for our freedom. In 2008 the National Association of Realtors gave a special message of thanks to our armed forces.
This year, like most years, as a mark of respect, the City Hall will be closed and many people have the day off. The beaches are bracing themselves for a flood of people as with the recession many people are having staycations and traveling closer to home! – This is great in Southern California where there is so much to do!
